Safe and Easy to Use:
The specific gravity of marine aquariums can be measured with the Levered Hydrometer.

Holding the top of the unit, slowly dip the Hydrometer into the water until it is submerged to upper Inlets #1 and #2. Water will flow into these upper inlets. Once the proper Water Level has been reached (see diagram), specific gravity can be read accuratley. This method avoids inaccurate readings by preventing bubbles from attaching to the lever. The proper specific gravity for marine animals is between 1.020 and 1.025. This safe zone is color-coded green on the scale. You must add Marinemix when the lever is below the standard and add freshwater when above the standard.

How to Maintain the Unit:
Rinse in freshwater after use. Accumulating salt deposits will result in inaccurate readings. Clean Hydrometer every 3 months by using 50% lukewarm water and 50% vinegar, soak for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly in freshwater.
